Appointment Of MD Sparks Development For NSPS

Electrical engineering firm NSPS has announced the recent appointment of new Managing Director David Gray, following the exit of former company founder Graeme Harper.

Following a majority shareholding purchase in January this year, NSPS became part of the Valor Energy Group, making it the fourth acquisition for the Group since 2018. Aberdeen based NSPS provides complete electrical and power solutions within the oil and gas, renewables and public sector, complimenting the current Valor offering of remote inspection technologies, thermal EOR and asset integrity services.

Supplying a range of specialist electrical engineering services since 2012, NSPS provides clients with world-class engineering support including high voltage/low voltage switchgear, cable jointing, rope access, partial discharge and thermography.

Taking up the position in November, Gray will be focusing on further sustained growth, developing from the previous success achieved year on year by the company. This will be realised through adding capacity in manufacturing of electrical systems and strengthening the performance on the delivery of legacy projects, both of which will bolster NSPS’ foothold with current and prospective clients.

David offers more than 20 years’ experience within the Oil and Gas industry, with a predominance of this spent in senior electrical and power generation positions. David more laterally supported the growth and development of Read Cased Hole throughout Denmark, Holland, Norway and the UK.

Commenting on the position, David added: “NSPS s a reputable market leader proud on delivering quality service to the client. The company has realised exceptional growth over the last few years, with an outstanding team of professionals currently in place. I have been provided with an excellent platform to elevate the business further, and as we move into 2020 we have a massive opportunity to expand our portfolio of service offerings for the end-user. The evolution of NSPS has meant that the business is well placed to supply electrical services to clients not only locally but across the globe”.

Moving into 2020, the business will also include the design and manufacture of obsolete parts due to increased demand from clients for this new product line. Capable of supplying clients with electrical engineering components which are no longer produced for current equipment in operation, NSPS hopes to save the client additional spend by simply replacing parts instead of the entire unit itself. This will be supported through a move to a larger purpose-built facility for increased capacity and more efficient operations.

David added: “Following the recent acquisition of NSPS by Valor, it is an incredibly exciting time for me to be joining the business. I see a huge benefit in being part of a larger and expanding group of companies, allowing us to be a more reactive and flexible business. Interlinking with the other businesses throughout the Valor Group will realise a more progressive development strategy whereby we can leverage support and resources to assist clients with a more diverse range of projects. With Group-wide QHSE systems in place, we are committed to consistently providing the highest standard of service possible to our clients”.

COO of Valor, Jordan Ferguson, comments: “The addition of David has been eagerly anticipated. He brings with him a wealth of commercial and technical experience, positioning him perfectly to achieve our ambitious plans for NSPS. David will work as closely with the team as possible, to ensure that standards are not only maintained to the highest level, but current operations are optimised to allow for increased performance and results”.
